John Raymond Barker is a professional actor, singer, writer, director, and voice over artist living in NYC. A Master of Fine Arts graduate from the University of Houston School of Theatre, John writes and directs YouTube shorts and music videos ranging from satire and comedy to politics and activism. He has written and directed the 8-part web series, The Message Board. John has also written the original one-man shows, Jerby: Fully LoadedJerby With A “Y”, and A Very Jerby Christmas. John has directed with the Alley Theatre’s Houston Young Playwright’s Exchange. He is currently writing the book & score for a new pop musical, Vampire Drag Queen. John has also been a reoccurring guest on HuffPost Live, offering his opinion on a variety of topics from politics to entertainment.

Full disclosure: of all the Stark Trek chapters whether in books, TV episodes and movies I have only seen 2  of the 6 Star Trek movies. Being fairly new to what has been around for nearly 50 years I hope “Star Trek Into The Darkness” as a stand alone movie doesn’t represent all the previous stories. Dear NBC while I want to thank you for bringing such an interesting show to NBC (SMASH) The greatest show ever brought to National TV I am very sad about it being cancelled. The show and finale tonight was one of my favorite TV shows of all time and a bad time slot was to blame for the bad ratings. NYC and NYC theater need to be in front of a National audience.
